Introduction

The most important question that a person can ever ask himself/herself is
"Where will I spend eternity?"

If your answer to this question is "I don't know" or "I'm just not sure." There is a way that you can know for sure that you will spend eternity in Heaven. We are told in God's word that there are none that are righteous and that none seek after God (Rom. 3:10,11). We are told that we are all sinners and deserve eternal judgement (Rom. 3:23; Rom.6:23a). The Bible says that we cannot earn our way into Heaven or ever be good enough to gain entrance on our own merits (Eph 2:8-10). Even though it sounds as if all is hopeless, it is not. God had a wonderful plan, even before the foundation of the Earth (Eph 1:4,5). This plan included His son Jesus Christ.

There had to be a perfect, sinless sacrifice to redeem mankind. That sacrifice was Jesus Christ. He died on the cross and was buried. Three days later he arose from the dead. He revealed Himself to many people then ascended to Heaven where He sits at the right hand of God the Father interceding for believers.

This perfect plan of God's consist of a Perfect Gift. This Gift is available to anyone. To receive this Gift, God requires that you realize you're a sinner and that you cannot get to heaven outside of receiving this Gift. This Gift is called salvation and it is made possible because of what Jesus did on the Cross.

The Bible says that you must believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead (Head knowledge is not good enough, you must know Him in your heart). The Bible also states that you must confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord. This is done by telling God that you agree with Him about His Son and by proclaiming Jesus to mankind as your Savior and Lord.

Heaven is a free Gift.

To understand why we need this free gift. We have provided information on this page concerning the
original state of man, his eventual fall and God's perfect plan.

We have also provided definitions of frequently used Bible terms. We also want to look at some
misconceptions about  who God really is and what the Bible has to say about Heaven and Hell.

Definitions

  • Sin: Sin is that condition and activity (rebellion) of human beings that is offensive to God, their Creator.

  • Gospel: Literally- "The Good News" that God has provided a way of redemption through His Son Jesus Christ.
  • Repentance, Repent: A profound change of one's mind. Being in agreement with God on what He says about sin. Changing the direction of your life 180 degrees from that of self-centeredness or sin-centeredness to God or Christ-centeredness.
  • Savior: Jesus as the Incarnate Son of God, is the Savior or Deliverer from sin and its consequences as well as from Satan and his power.
  • Saved, Salvation, Born Again: Salvation is the act of a person repenting and believing in their heart on the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus, and that in fact, he is the Son of God. You are then born into the family of God. Your first birth was a physical birth and the second birth is a spiritual birth.
  • Redeemed, Redemption: Literally- Released from or freedom from the payment of a price, deliverance by a costly method.(The release or freedom comes from the payment owed on sin, which is eternal death or in other words Hell. The deliverance by a costly method was the price paid by Jesus. Which was his death on the cross as a payment for our sins.)
  • Sanctification: Literally- The process or result of being made holy. To be consecrated and set apart for the use of God.
  • Justification:  The judicial act of God by which, on the basis of the meritorious work of  Christ, imputed to the sinner and received through faith, God declares the sinner absolved from sin, released from its penalty, and restored as righteous. Simply put, being placed by God in a right relationship with Himself. Just as if we had never sinned.
  • Propitiation: Christ turned God's wrath away from guilty sinners by enduring that wrath himself at Calvary on the cross. God's anger towards sin was appeased by Christ's death. He was our substitute.

Gospel Message

John 3:3
Jesus answered and said to him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is  born again  he cannot

I want to get saved

The decision to give your life to Christ is the most important decision that you will ever
make. God loves you and wants you to be part of His family. He loves you so much
that he sacrificed His only Son for you. Eternity is an awful long time.  To spend it without
God  is unimaginable. The first prayer that God ever acknowledges from a person is the
prayer of repentance. If you have viewed this page and you realize that you are lost and
are ready to get saved you can pray a prayer something like this. Remember you are
speaking to God when you pray, so speak from your heart.

Heavenly Father I come to you in total agreement with your Word. I confess to you that
I am a sinner, lost and on my way to hell. I realize that I cannot get to heaven by
being a good person and it doesn't matter how many good things I do I can never earn
my way into heaven. I understand that the only way to heaven is by trusting what Jesus
did for me on the Cross. I believe that he died for my sins, was buried and rose again
and now He sits at Your right hand. Lord Jesus I place my trust  in you alone for my salvation and acknowledge you as my personal Lord and Savior.

If you just prayed and accepted Christ as your personal Savior, welcome to the Body of Christ.
Call someone and share the good news.  Contact us so we can pray for you. Start studying
the Bible daily so that you may know your Savior better. Start by reading the Gospel
according to John in the New Testament. Find a good local Bible believing and teaching
church and start attending regularly. If you live near Dale we invite you to come and
worship with us. Finally becoming a Christian doesn't mean that life will become easier.
It does mean that when trials come you will not have to go through them alone. You have
a Savior that will never leave you nor forsake you (Heb. 13:5). You can cast all your
cares upon Him, because He cares for you (1 Pet. 5:6,7), and your Savior can sympathize
with you in your weaknesses because he has been tempted in all things yet he
did not sin (Heb. 4:15,16).

How do I know if I am saved?

And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds
 in Christ  Jesus.

Misconceptions

  • I  don't believe in God, so how can I answer to someone that I don't believe in.

  • (The existence of God does not depend on whether or not a person believes in Him. The Bible says  that you will be without excuse for not believing, because even creation proclaims His existence.)

Psalms 14:1
The fool has said  in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, they have committed
abominable deeds; There is no one who does good.
Romans 1:18
For the  wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness
of men who suppress  the truth in unrighteousness,
Romans 1:19
because that which is known about God is evident within  them; for God made it evident
to them.
Romans 1:20
For since  the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine
nature, have been clearly seen, being  understood through what has been made, so that
they are without excuse.

  • I believe in God. That should be enough to get me into Heaven.

  • (Most everybody believes in God. The Bible says that even the demons believe and tremble, but that will not get them into Heaven. There is a big difference between head knowledge and heart knowledge of God.)

James 2:19
You believe that God is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder.
Romans 10:9
that if  you confess with your mouth Jesus {as} Lord, and believe  in your heart that God
 raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;
Romans 10:10
for with the heart a person believes, resulting  in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses,
 resulting in salvation
Romans 10:13
for "WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED."

  • God is a God of love he would never send anyone to Hell.

  • (God never sends anyone to Hell. It is each persons own decision whether he/she goes to Hell.)

2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you,
not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.
Revelation 20:15
And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire

  •  I believe that basically everyone is good.

  • (The Bible says that there are none righteous not even one.)

Romans 3:10
as it is written, "THERE IS NONE RIGHTEOUS, NOT EVEN ONE;
Romans 3:11
THERE IS NONE WHO UNDERSTANDS, THERE IS NONE WHO SEEKS
FOR GOD;
Romans 3:12
ALL HAVE TURNED ASIDE, TOGETHER THEY HAVE BECOME USELESS;
THERE IS NONE WHO DOES GOOD, THERE IS NOT EVEN ONE."
Psalms 14:2
The LORD has looked down from heaven upon the sons of men To see if there are any who
understand,  Who seek after God.
Psalms 14:3
They have all turned  aside, together they have become corrupt; There is no one who does
good, not even one.
Jeremiah 17:9
"The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it?
Isaiah 64:6
For all of us have become like one who is unclean, And all our righteous deeds are like a
filthy garment; And all of us wither  like a leaf, And our iniquities,  like the wind, take us away.

  • I am a good person I believe that God will let me into Heaven.I'm not sure of where I will go when I die, but I'm not that bad. I've never killed anyone or anything like that, so I hope God will let me into Heaven.

  • If anyone deserves to go to Heaven he/she does because he/she is such a kind person, he/she would give you the shirt off of his/her back.
  • (We cannot get to Heaven on our own merits or good deeds. If we could, Jesus would not of had to come to this earth and die for our sins)

2 Corinthians 4:3
And even if our gospel is veiled,  it is veiled to those who are perishing,
2 Corinthians 4:4      (Satan)
in whose case the  god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might
not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
Romans 5:8
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died
for us.
Hebrews 9:22
And according to the Law, {one may} almost {say,} all things are cleansed with blood, and
without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.

  • The good things I've done in my life far out weigh the bad things I've done, so I should be able to get into Heaven.

  • (If this were the case, where is the dividing line? Do you have to be as good as, or better than, your neighbor, or do you have to be as good as Mother Teresa or Billy Graham? If we would have to do as many good deeds as the latter two individuals to get into Heaven, very few people would ever make it. Fortunately, we are not saved  by our good deeds, but instead by God's Grace through faith  in Christ alone. Even Mother Teresa and Billy Graham can't earn their way into Heaven by their good deeds. Their acceptance into Heaven is just like yours or mine. It is based upon whether or not they had made a personal decision to receive Christ as their Savior. If not they will be eternally lost. God does not play favoritism  with people. There will be no bragging rights in Heaven.)

Ephesians 2:8
For by  grace you have been saved through faith; and that  not of yourselves, {it is} the gift of God;
Ephesians 2:9
not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.
Ephesians 2:10
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good  works, which God prepared
beforehand so that we would walk in them.
Matthew 7:22
"Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in
Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?'
Matthew 7:23
"And  then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; DEPART  FROM ME, YOU WHO
 PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.'

  • I don't believe in Hell. A loving God would never create such a place.

  • (The Bible says that God did create Hell, and that he did so for Satan, his angels and his followers.)

Matthew 25:41
"Then He will also say to those on His left, 'Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal
fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels;

  • I'm going to Hell, if I don't change my ways.

  • (It doesn't matter how many ways you change. You cannot change enough to make it to Heaven. You have to recognize that you are a lost sinner and the only way to Heaven is by accepting JesusChrist as your Savior. Only God can change you.)

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if anyone is in Christ, {he is} a  new creature; the old things passed away; behold,
new things have come.
John 14:6
Jesus *said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father
but through Me.

  • I will get saved on my death bed.

  • (You have no idea when you will die, it could be today, without warning. The Bible says that today is the day for salvation.)

Luke 12:20
"But God said to him, 'You fool! This {very} night your soul is required of you; and {now}
who will own what you have prepared?'
2 Corinthians 6:2b
" Behold, now is "THE ACCEPTABLE TIME," behold, now is "THE DAY OF
SALVATION"--

  • I'm going to Hell with all of my friends and party with them.

  • (There will be no parties in Hell.  There will be eternal separation from God in Hell. You now can call on God anytime to save you and he is there, but in Hell there are no second chances. God will be eternally separated from you, never to answer a prayer of repentance. Jesus called Hell "outer darkness". Total and eternal darkness. . Jesus said that there will be "weeping and gnashing of teeth", where"their worm never dies". Constant torment with the pain never decreasing forever and ever and ever. Eventually Hell will be cast into the lake of fire. This does not sound like a party.)

Matthew 22:13
"Then  the king said to the servants, 'Bind him hand and foot, and throw him into the outer darkness;
in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'
Matthew 13:41
"The Son of Man will send forth His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all stumbling
blocks, and those who commit lawlessness,
Matthew 13:42
and will throw them into the furnace of fire; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing
of teeth.

may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool off my tongue, for I am in agony in this flame.'

for I have five brothers--in order that he may warn them, so that they will not also come to this

and the false prophet are also; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
Revelation 20:14
And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

  • The devil and his demons will be overlords in Hell.

  • (Satan and his angels will suffer torment forever and ever just as the unsaved will, and he nor his demons will ever rule in Hell.)

Revelation 20:10
And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast
and the false prophet are also; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
Jude 1:6
And angels who did not keep their own domain, but abandoned their proper abode, He has kept
in eternal bonds under darkness for the judgment of the great day,

  • The devil is in Hell right now.

  • (Satan is not in Hell now, nor has he ever been. His judgement is yet future. The Bible says that he is roaming this earth to and fro like a lion looking for people to devour.)

1 Peter 5:8
Be of sober {spirit,} be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring
 lion, seeking someone to devour.

  • When a good person dies he/she becomes an Angel.

  • (This is not true. Angels are created beings just as humans are. When a  person receives Jesus Christ as their personal Savior he/she becomes a saint and one day will receive a new glorified body, according to Scripture. When this person dies, he/she is ushered into the presence of the Lord. He/She will never be transformed into an Angel.)

1 John 3:2
Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know
that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is.
Philippians 3:20
For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus
Christ;
Philippians 3:21
who will transform the body of our humble state into conformity with the body of His glory, by the
exertion of the power that He has even to subject all things to Himself.
2 Corinthians 5:8
we are of good courage, I say, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home
with the Lord.
1 Corinthians 1:2b
to those who have been sanctified in Christ Jesus, saints by calling, with all who in every
place call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, their {Lord} and ours:
1 Corinthians 15:51
Behold, I tell you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed,
1 Corinthians 15:52
in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the
dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.
1 Corinthians 15:53
For this perishable  must put on the imperishable, and this mortal must put on immortality.

  • All religions believe in God, they just worship him differently.

  • (Different religions may believe in a god, but they don't believe in the same God of the Bible. God is very specific as to how he is to be worshiped.)

John 4:23
"But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in  spirit
and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers.
John 4:24
"God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."
John 14:6
Jesus *said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father

  • We are all trying to get to the same place (Heaven). We are just taking different paths (religions).

  • (Religion is man's feeble attempt to please or reach God, but it always fails 100% of the time.True Christianity is what God did to reconcile Himself to man. Jesus stated that there is only one way to Heaven and that is through Him.)

John 14:6
Jesus *said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father

Hebrews 9:27
And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this {comes} judgment,

The Bible describes him in many ways: the god of this world; an angel of light; a roaring lion; murderer; liar; father of lies; accuser of the bretheren; etc... Do not be deceived.)

2 Corinthians 4:4      (Satan)
in whose case the  god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might

2 Corinthians 11:14

1 Peter 5:8

a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him.
Whenever he speaks a  lie, he speaks from his own {nature,} for he is a liar and the
father of lies.
Revelation 12:10
