Introduction

The most important question that a person can ever ask himself/herself is
"Where will I spend eternity?"

If your answer to this question is "I don't know" or "I'm just not sure." There is a way that you can know for sure that you will spend eternity in Heaven. We are told in God's word that there are none that are righteous and that none seek after God (Rom. 3:10,11). We are told that we are all sinners and deserve eternal judgement (Rom. 3:23; Rom.6:23a). The Bible says that we cannot earn our way into Heaven or ever be good enough to gain entrance on our own merits (Eph 2:8-10). Even though it sounds as if all is hopeless, it is not. God had a wonderful plan, even before the foundation of the Earth (Eph 1:4,5). This plan included His son Jesus Christ.

There had to be a perfect, sinless sacrifice to redeem mankind. That sacrifice was Jesus Christ. He died on the cross and was buried. Three days later he arose from the dead. He revealed Himself to many people then ascended to Heaven where He sits at the right hand of God the Father interceding for believers.

This perfect plan of God's consist of a Perfect Gift. This Gift is available to anyone. To receive this Gift, God requires that you realize you're a sinner and that you cannot get to heaven outside of receiving this Gift. This Gift is called salvation and it is made possible because of what Jesus did on the Cross.

The Bible says that you must believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead (Head knowledge is not good enough, you must know Him in your heart). The Bible also states that you must confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord. This is done by telling God that you agree with Him about His Son and by proclaiming Jesus to mankind as your Savior and Lord.

Heaven is a free Gift.

To understand why we need this free gift. We have provided information on this page concerning the
original state of man, his eventual fall and God's perfect plan.

We have also provided definitions of frequently used Bible terms. We also want to look at some
misconceptions about  who God really is and what the Bible has to say about Heaven and Hell.

Definitions

  • Sin: Sin is that condition and activity (rebellion) of human beings that is offensive to God, their Creator.

  • Gospel: Literally- "The Good News" that God has provided a way of redemption through His Son Jesus Christ.
  • Repentance, Repent: A profound change of one's mind. Being in agreement with God on what He says about sin. Changing the direction of your life 180 degrees from that of self-centeredness or sin-centeredness to God or Christ-centeredness.
  • Savior: Jesus as the Incarnate Son of God, is the Savior or Deliverer from sin and its consequences as well as from Satan and his power.
  • Saved, Salvation, Born Again: Salvation is the act of a person repenting and believing in their heart on the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus, and that in fact, he is the Son of God. You are then born into the family of God. Your first birth was a physical birth and the second birth is a spiritual birth.
  • Redeemed, Redemption: Literally- Released from or freedom from the payment of a price, deliverance by a costly method.(The release or freedom comes from the payment owed on sin, which is eternal death or in other words Hell. The deliverance by a costly method was the price paid by Jesus. Which was his death on the cross as a payment for our sins.)
  • Sanctification: Literally- The process or result of being made holy. To be consecrated and set apart for the use of God.
  • Justification:  The judicial act of God by which, on the basis of the meritorious work of  Christ, imputed to the sinner and received through faith, God declares the sinner absolved from sin, released from its penalty, and restored as righteous. Simply put, being placed by God in a right relationship with Himself. Just as if we had never sinned.
  • Propitiation: Christ turned God's wrath away from guilty sinners by enduring that wrath himself at Calvary on the cross. God's anger towards sin was appeased by Christ's death. He was our substitute.
