Sunday
School
Our
Sunday School program is not just for children, but also for the
teenagers and adults. The adult class is a structured Bible
study that encourages group participation. The Bible study may
consist of a topical study or a complete study of a certain book of
the Bible. We welcome you to come and join us during Sunday School.
9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. every Sunday morning.
Just
For Kids (J.F.K.)
J.F.K.
is an extensive ministry geared towards teaching children the
importance of God's Word and applying it to their daily lives. The
children are taught that the only way to truly understand the
importance of the Bible is to have a personal relationship with Jesus
Christ. We concentrate on verse memorization by doing a step by step
lesson plan each week. Games and activities are included in the
program as well. There are a number of phases in each program.
At the end of the program, the children participate in an awards
ceremony. For further information on the J.F.K. program visit the J.F.K.
page or call (812) 937-4084.
Youth
Group
The
Youth Group at Dale Bible Church is made up of young folks from
Seventh grade up to Seniors in High School. They meet every Wednesday
night at 6:00 p.m. during the school year and at 6:30 p.m. during the
summer months downstairs at the church for Bible study. The
group also has a very important place in the church involving various
different ministries. They help during the Vacation Bible School
program in many ways from assisting teachers to putting on biblical
skits for the children. Occasionally the Youth Group will conduct an
entire service from ushering to preaching. The group also plans
activities with the guidance of the youth counsellors such as rock
climbing, skating and other events they have scheduled. The Youth
Group understands that their main priority is to honor and glorify
the Lord Jesus Christ.
Vacation
Bible School (V.B.S.)
The Dale Bible
Church spends a week each summer with the children prior to the start
of school focusing on glorifying our Lord Jesus Christ through the
Vacation Bible School Program. The Program each year has a different
theme and each class builds on this theme by the lessons that are
taught, the way that they choose to decorate their classrooms and the
crafts that they do. The children learn new songs, spend valuable
time in God's word, do crafts and have a period of time set aside to
play games. The children also learn the importance of supporting
Christian missionaries around the world and each night we encourage
the children to invite new friends to join in the fun, fellowship and worship.
Summer
Youth Camp
The Dale Bible
Church along with the other
IFCA International
churches in the Southern
Illinois and Indiana Regional
hosts a summer camp at Shakamak
State Park near
Jasonville, Indiana each year. The youth are divided into two
different camps. Junior Camp and Senior Camp each being independent
of the other. Junior campers are 3rd to 6th graders. Senior
campers are 7th to12th graders. The focus is twofold, to see unsaved
kids come to the Lord, and to encourage saved kids in the Word. They
are not allowed to bring CDs, radios, TVs or anything that may
distract them from the week's events. Their whole focus is to
be in fellowship and in the Word. Campers receive a book when they
register which has verses they can memorize for points. Each
person is assigned to a team within their camp. All week they strive
to see which team can accumulate the most points. Each morning
is spent at the flagpole where the camp administrator challenges each
individual for the day. Senior camp has chapel every morning
and every evening. During their free time, the Senior campers
can relax and spend time getting to know one another. At the
end of camp, the Juniors have a campfire and go skating. The
Seniors have their campfire while the Juniors skate and once they
return the Seniors go. The campfire is held in an outdoor
amphitheater and it is a time for those who want to share what the
Lord has done in their life during the past week. In each cabin,
there is one teacher who has helpers. They keep the Junior
campers very busy. Every morning they participate in
story time and in the evening chapel time. Their free time consists
of horseback riding, paddle boating or swimming. Both Senior
and Junior camps have special themes and speakers that change from
year to year. It is an action packed week focused on the
Lord. The week is exhausting and emotions run high, but fun is
had by all. For
